The Steamboat Captain Doll is the first character doll of the Old Man River Collection. Inspired by an actual steamboat captain that paddled down the Mississippi River in years gone by. The Steamboat Captain Doll stands 18 inches in height and is standing on a hand-crafted wooden stand designed by Brian Bernard. Brian's idea was to duplicate the hand rails of the Steamboats that churned the muddy waters of the Mighty Mississippi. He is dressed in a black woolen pea coat jacket, white turtleneck sweater and wool black pants. He wears a handmade captains hat. JoAnn's unique body design allows The Steamboat Captain to be positioned in various ways by bending his arms at the elbow joints. This feature adds to the lifelike quality of the piece. Accompanying the character doll is a booklet and display card designed by JoAnn to include; the number of the piece, the inspirational sketch, a short bio, and a story about the character. All clay pieces are limited editions of 500. A numbered and signed Certificate of Authenticity is also provided with the character doll.
